Trying to identify a 3-in 1-out ABC box with levels

I'm looking for a foot switchable 3-in, 1out that has knobs for levels of each in, to facilitate switching between 3 instruments into a single signal chain and amp.

I know of the Morley ABC box, but that doesn't have the ability to adjust levels from what I can see. Radial Tonebone Bassbone is only 2 inputs, and is somewhat overkill in other features for my application.

Anyone know of something that might work but not break the bank? Not looking to engage custom work.

I think a Boss LS-2 can be configured this way in A>B>Bypass mode. One instrument goes into the input and it has no volume control on the pedal. The other two instruments plug into the A and B returns, and they both have a volume knob on them.

The Boss can do it yes but it's not switchable.
I have a Wounded Paw Super Blender that can be used this way but it is indeed overkill.
There are splitters with level control but they're not switchable.
I can't think of a product that does that only. It's gonna be either custom or oversized.

The LS-2 will switch between the three in A>B>Bypass mode, according to the block diagram on the Boss manual.

http://media.rolandus.com/manuals/LS-2_OM.pdf

You wont be able to select more than one at a time in that mode, though.

Can you not adjust the volume on your instruments instead?

Lehle makes exactly what you want, but it is expensive.

The Palmer Trinity is a 3-in, 1-out with level control on each channel (adjustable 12db gain). Very good sound quality!

What are the three instruments you are using in this setup (and the rest of the signal path for that matter)? There might be an alternative that might even prove easier or cheaper.

That clever Boss LS-2 config may do the trick. I'll take a look at the others too but fear they may exceed budget. The Trinity looks perfect, but I'm afraid to see the price tag.

The instruments in question are 2 Fender strats (one normal, one set up for slide) and a harmonica mic. I left those details out initially to avoid non-bass content and out of the band management forum.

The guitars run through a couple of effects (OD, wah) to a decent fender blues type guitar combo.

The guy is a fantastic player, but I think not a lot of live performance experience. I'm trying to minimize his downtime between songs for switching instruments, amongst other efforts to increase the professionalism of the group to make a better show. That's part of the budget limitation, as it's likely to be me funding someone else's gear rather than my own!

Thanks, love the ideas and input!

I think the Palmer is a little under $300 & the Lehle a little more.

That's a pretty great offer above!

I suppose the 'cheapest' option would be to mount a few volume pots into an enclosure with a 3-way toggle switch. Cut-only volume adjustment, but cheap!

I haven't tried it, but the Wounded Paw Super Blender that I am trading away has three loops. I will test and see if you can just plug into the insert. It has three loops.

Another option:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...personal-mixer
or
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...th-compression
or
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...ger-xenyx-1202

Active mini-mixers like this may not look like something you'd put on a pedalboard, and I'll admit the Yamaha one there is kinda big, but they will do the job pretty darn well--and you're looking at under $100 shipped. Plus even though you're buying it to help out the other guy, I'm sure you can find a use for a mixer for yourself.

Will definitely look at mixers. Trying to keep things simple for the other guy, but I've been itching for a mini mixer (Xenyx 502) as a cheap alternative to a headphone amp and aux in for mp3. Could kill 3 birds with 1 stone...

The Raven Labs MDB-1 is exactly what you're looking for. You'd have to find a used one.

Fixed.

I have three or four of the power supplies and all five of the Raven Labs units. I used to have the USIP, too, but I sold it so someone can get some use out of it.

Then I would say just use a 2 channel ABY box to switch between harmonica and guitar. It's not that much of a pain to unplug one guitar to plug in another. A lot simpler, and less chance of breaking something (I loathe leaving guitars plugged in - always a chance of snagging a lead and breaking something).
