Tubeworks Blue Tube O/D - OK for bass?

I have a chance to get the stompbox version at a decent price. I'm just looking for something to add a little "wool" to the sound on occasion. Would this work or would I be better off getting something "bass-specific"?

I've been here a while now and this is the first time I can remember hearing anyone tell themselves to search

Well, I just got one of these recently, so I can add to/reinforce the info in that thread.

This unit is perfecto for mild, tubey (duh) overdrive. The EQ is also very useful. I think what makes this better than other tube ODs that I've tried is the way the tube is powered. I base this on the fact that it has an attached AC cord rather than trying to power it from a 9V or 12V DC adapter.

The only thing that I didn't like about this pedal is that it couldn't do anything even close to high-gain. It's all mild, nothing hard. For some (most?), that's not a problem, though.
