How many two-knob compressor pedals are there? I would love to have a compression pedal that only had two knobs: compression and gain. The compressors I've had in the past have been pretty full-featured - attack, release, knee control, threshold, etc. Ideally I could have a pedal with one big knob labeled "Compression", but I imagine you need some sort of level control in there.
What are some low-knob-count compressors that don't suck? |

Demeter
EBS
T-Rex CompNova
TC Vintage Comp
BBE OptoStomp
CAE V-Comp (good luck!)
Guyatone ST2 and BL2 Certain custom Orange Squeezer or Ross clones. (Quality, knob count, and bass-friendliness will vary depending on the customization.) |

(That Nano Soul Preacher looks pretty sweet.) |

I'm not one to switch a compressor in or out while I'm playing, so once I set it up it would probably be ok. |

After reading a few reviews, it seems like that might be the one for me. The price is certainly right! Maybe one will pop up in the classifieds soon... Quote:

I've had compressors with all the controls I could ever want, and they just were more to deal with than I care to. Considering my live rig is very often bass -> amp, I didn't need all the bells and whistles on a unit I used occasionally. An affordable, good sounding comp that I can plug in and turn one knob is what I'm after at the moment. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
