Two left feet and Effects pedals

Let me start by describing what I've got:
Boss ME-50B multieffects unit two big feet, and all of the coordination of the federal government.

Now the problem:
I think I'm the only person on the planet with this issue, but when I'm playing and have to turn on or off an effect (like, switching to the overdrive, soloing, and then turning it off), I always hit a wrong pedal on my Boss ME-50B, causing problems. The pedals on the ME-50B seem somewhat close together (the whole "big feet thing").
Well, while the smart thing to do would be to practice using it so I don't accidentally hit the wrong pedal when enabling or disabling an effect, I'm willing to throw a little $$$ at it - it's easier than learning NOT to hit the wrong pedal (throwing $$$ at things rather than learning their proper use is my undeniable birthright as an American lol)

Now the possible solution:
I'm thinking of getting two Boss FS-5L pedals to simulate what I've got on my ME-50B, use one for footswitch 1 and the other for footswitch 2, and space them so far apart I can't possibly hit the wrong one with my clumsy big feet.

Anyone familiar with the FS-5L and ME-50B to tell me if I can use two FS-5L pedals to replicate pedals 1 and 2 on the effects board?

It's been a long time since I've owned that pedal so my memory could be a bit foggy, but I'll do the best that I can.

My recollection is that those switches can only be used for a few different things;

Scrolling through patches or

Toggling the EQ and compression.

Check the manual to verify this.

I'm pretty sure that you need a momentary switch to toggle those units, and I'm also pretty sure the L in FS-5L stands for latching. Make sure you use a momentary switch ( again verify with the manual; it's been a long time).

Other than that all you should need is a TRS to dual mono adapter and it should work fine.

If you don't have a manual go to the Boss site and download one now. The manual is a bit of a PITA to navigate but it is necessary to figure out some of the features.

I wear a size 13 and mis stomp all of the time (always hitting my tuner on instead of my octave off) ever since I got wider boots. I'm getting narrower toed boots to help a bit.

What about putting some sort of raised platform on top the of the switch? Like a piece of wood to raise the switch higher than the other? I use that under my pedals to raise them when needed but I don't know if that would help in your situation
