U5 in the signal chain

Does the "Thru Out" output on the Avalon U5 act as a parallel output sending a dry signal back out? Or is it usable as an out if i wanted to place the U5 before my amp?

Basically I want to have the U5 in my on-stage signal path going into my amp as well as to FOH.
I'm currently running the following setup:
Bass > Tuner > Tube Screamer > DynaComp > Noise Sup > SansAmp > (XLR Out to FOH) + (Line out to SVT4)

As far as I know the "Thru Out" output is directly connected to the input.

Very few DIs have a parallel out. Summit Audio has one though. I've listed it but I'm only selling it half-heartedly.
