The best part is, is that my amp is in the shop until sometime late next week. Its the curse of the Bluebeard, even when you get one, you still have to wait!

(that and I know I need a back up amp)

I have a Bluebeard.
It’s a nice BM variation.

No the Fuzzhugger Great Wall has it beat.

The Great Wall sounds like butt hole IMO

Sorry to be a bucket of cold water, but isn't the Bluebeard just a GGG Big Muff? If so, why on earth is there a wait?

+1. It's not the manufacturer's job to withhold one from you unless there's a good reason, regardless of how mindblowing it sounds.

Here we go again...haha.
It's the same layout as a GGG-tuned BMP with another cap in LED circuit on perfboard instead of a fancy PCB.
Same beast (pretty much), different body.

I dont think Sonny witholds them from anybody. Hes a one man gig and he has a LOT of orders. A very good friend of mine is friends with him personaly, and talks to him about the pedal, life, bands, etc all the time.

My understanding is that he gathered up just about every single Muff he could find in the DC/Baltimore area from places like Atomic Music, Action Music, Chuck Levins etc etc, and found the one that he found was the absolute best. He took that pedal and used it as the blueprint for the BB and builds them up componet for component as to his favorite Muff that he found. Thats pretty much from the horses mouth, and you know what, even if it isnt true, the BB is hands down the best sounding fuzz with great low retention that I have ever heard. Just ask grygrx.

Anyways, thanks for all the compliments and encouragement for the NPD

I'm pretty sure that JD from GGG created the circuit.
Regardless, it's a Ram's Head with a few component changes.
Does it slay on bass? Yes. Do I own and use a GGG-tuned muff? For sure.
The circuit is perfect, IMHO for bass, but a blend makes it even better. If you can get your hands on a blender, try it w/ the BB.

thanks for the input, will do. The BB has too many stories/myths surrounding it haha. Like I said though, a good friend of mine knows Sonny personally, and the story I gave is the one he gave me. Either way, Im very very pleased with the pedal thus far. Just what I was looking for.

So I did an A/B of a Bluebeard with a Great Wall this afternoon.

The Bluebeard is grainier even at lower settings, with distinct scooped mids, tons of volume.
The Great Wall has more bass on tap, can get smoother.

Both sound very good and I do like both for what they do.

and running them together gets really nasty in a good way.

I’ll have to get a hold of a blend and give that a try.

thats cool man. I cold never really get into the Great Wall, but maybe blending it with another uzz would be the trick. Im just extremely biased towards towards the muff sound, thats what I like. And youre right, the BB does have a lot of volume

you are correct

it's all a matter of opinion...

personally there are a ton of muff clones that slay with bass

oh happy new pedal day holy war...

Love my Bluebeard. Mine has a mid control, which is the best idea anyone has ever had, hands down. Turned down it's just the Bluebeard, but maxed the mids are flat. It turns into a feedback inducing beast. I love it.

It's at our studio right now, but I'll pick it up and snap some shots ASAP.
