so germ and silicon huh? will the cold weather affect that? will a battery sound different than a PP2?
i have a univox original and love it. the wattson does look cool (and is way cheaper).

You'll always hear that a battery sounds "better" than a steady power supply...that's up to you on whether that's true or not |

I wonder also if there are any bass soundclips of Shin-ei or original SuperFuzz, just to get the flavour on the pedals?
Cheers, Kris
P.S. I've read that Wattson Electronics is working on Uni-Vibe clone. Sounds interesting. |

If the schematic I have is correct, it has capacitors that are definitely big enough to let in a lot of signal. Just a tweak of the tone stack and it should work great with bass. |

I have one on the breadboard and it adds lots of highs, but you could tweak the tonestack pretty easily. I added a blend instead, and its working well with that too.
I like that it doesn't seem to flatten your envelope too much so envelope filters after it are pretty responsive compared to other fuzzes I've used.
Gotta tweak the circuit a bit and see how it sounds without octave or clipping diodes, but this ones getting boxed up. |

What transistors are you using? I'm not going to get the original transistors since they're just silicon (unless they are still easy to find and cheap). A similar spec'ed transistor will do the job just fine. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
