Does anyone have problems with feedback using pedals in a jamming situation?

..nope. never.

if your using a lot of gain and your amp is turned up and you play a hollowbody..then maybe..

more info on your signal chain will help us give you advice.

Nope never had feedback problems... I actually went out & got a hollowbody & had to really try to get it to feedback/sustain using overdrive!

If you're feeding back spontaneously & unintentionally- I'd say something's either very wrong, or very right!

Same here...all feedback in my signal chain is deliberate.

Unity Gain is a wonderful thing.

(Which means keeping volume levels of your pedals when on close to the same level as when the pedals are off.)

Others love huge volume gains from their pedals, but it 'can' introduce feedback, hiss, noise, etc when boosting the bejeezus out of levels.

What pedal/amps/settings? Be aware of your gain structure.

The pedal is a Boss ME-50B which, when I plug it in with my band, creates unbearable levels of feedback which makes it unplayable. We play in a small basement room, at loud volume, and the guys recon there is so much electrical equipment being used when we jam that my ME-50B pushes it over the edge.

Maybe I just need to spend more time tinkering with the settings.

Serious. First thing I do before a jamming situation is make sure all my pedals sound even. And also...make sure those I want louder to turn them up!

I do. Between the QSC PLX 3402 I'm running for power and the 810e that I'm driving, when I turn on a fuzz I'll get some feedback issues. Of course, this is only when I crank it all the way up and I set the fuzz pretty high. I don't use the fuzz often but when I do I just have to be aware of open strings.

I don't have experience with this unit, but it sounds like there's something like a global setting for input gain that's set way too high.

The ME-50B doesn't have a global input gain adjustment to my knowledge, but just turning down the gain on the drives will probably go a long way towards fixing your situation.

Also, it sounds like there may be something wrong with your pickups or electronics. If they are wired up wrong or not shielded properly, you may run into problems with feedback.

Well, I once made the terrible mistake of trying to use a Michael Kelly ABG at a bar show. To be fair it worked in a loud basement practice several times sans feedback.
