How do these pedals/pre-amps compare? I'd love to get rid of one of these monster heads and get something cheap, like an old acoustic or gk, run one of these pedals into it for the warmth and tube overdrive. Would it even compare? I was really impressed with the sound clips you guys posted, plus the kickstarter video...

I can't compare it to an SVT, but I can compare it to my 70's V4-b. Tonally, it's got much more gain on tap, but sounds plenty like a classic tub ampy. I can also say that I run it into an acoustic 320 and it works great. Those old acoustics have a TON of volume and running a clean signal into the other channel of the 320 allows for a lot of versatility. I've also used it with a power amp into a single 15" and even that was a very convenient set up for lower volume, with the ability for full on tube tone AND natural break up / OD by dialing up the gain. I could see a very simple bar or coffee shop set-up being: Pedal Board, and a small rack with a Power conditioner and Power amp in it, and a lightweight (or heavy weight) cab.
