VFE Effects.

Hey Guys,

So I just found this new company while looking for a boss slow gear clone, not happy with my BYOC Lazy Sprocket. I found VFE, and if you guys like tweakability, he has a switch and a knob for everything! I have a bumblebee and a White Horse on order! Oh and he is having a sale right now. His stuff is reasonably priced, and looks to be well built. Also I shot him some emails (super fast btw) and he has a wicked flanger coming out. Some specs on the flanger;

1590B Enclosure (MXR Sized Pedal)
2 MN3007 Chips
3-way switch to switch between 2 MN3007 chips (ADA), 1 chip (MXR), or a freeze mode where the Manual knob controls the sweep.

http://www.vfepedals.com/VFE_Pedals/Products.html

Anyone have any opinions on his stuff?

Looks nice, mostly variations on standard clones, but well priced and tweakable.

I did a short take video on the VFE El Raton "super rat" in this youtube video. It's a great sounding pedal on bass and for the price nothing comes close in the tweakable department!

I've been seeking something like the bumblebee for some of my bass stuff. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Ok will do nonrapping. I love that the Bumblebee has a sustain control to get really long swells without losing volume. and I love the three way speed switch.

I decided against the white horse until a later date, but will be getting it. I did however get my Bumblebee and it is just what I was looking for. Short lead synth like swells and also really long held out atmospheric chord swells.

The first part of your response KINDA negates the second part.

I have a firery red horse. It sounds great and Peter is really cool about doing custom work. He added a clean level control to mine.

+1.

I agree with what Eric said. TB'er Sillyfabe bought mine and I think he still loves it.

Their combo pedals are awesome and I highly recommend them.

I love that thing! it has a decent compressor based off a DOD, a PT233 delay chip and a slow-gear clone all built in. set the trigger to max and you have a comp with a pretty decent set of parameters. the key for me is using the slow-gear into the delay for long swells that repeat with analog goodness. Thanks again saving grace this pedal is here to stay!

Bumping up the VFE/VonRutter love here...

I just today received a White Horse and will of course be posting a proper review after a while. The initial impression is that it sounds great and works great on bass. Also the maker was really good about prompt and helpful communication. He's got a lot of hella-cool looking items FS right now: http://shop.ebay.com/vfe_pedals/m.html
I might buy one of the combo units that contains the White Horse plus "something else".

Cool. Looks like the White Horse is a mod or two away from being a killer compressor for bass.

Yeah, it's already quite good, especially at the price--but if he made one that ran at 18V for higher headroom, then it would compete with the very best.
