I spent all morning getting my clip uploaded to Soundcloud, screen shots, etc, then read that the contest was over.
That's what I get for not reading all of the posts in the thread.
I'm ready for another contest when that happens. |

I will say that I tried "the bassbuilder" gk entry with very little tweaking and it became one of my presets for playing live its a good one!!!!! I put the eq after the amp and little minute changes to the eq pedal. Of course Guy used all five entries...if you didn't see that one coming, then you haven't been around here much at all And you have no idea who duke21 is
I also was hopping for more entries at first I thought that guy Paul and I shouldn't even enter but then I saw the other two getting in so I was for sure gonna get in....but as soon as February started I haven't been able to sit down with my bass and play at all (besides the rehearsal nights and performances) to put something in.
I also need audiobus and mtdaw....I've been holding out hoping to get GB audiobus support. I probably should stop holding my breath.

The Circle is 1.5GB large in MT DAW, and that is only 44.1/16!!!!!! Now I know that ipad4 with at least 64GB is my next investment. My 16GB iPad mini is a bit too small for this kind of projects. I also consider Auria for the large project which needs more track automation. Don't get me wrong MT DAW is great but for these prog rock songs with so much going on I would like a bit more options. |

| | How does he do that? | | | | | And the winners are!!!! Here are the voting results (refer to the attached SurveyMonkey screen caps for reference). Results do not reflect any votes submitted after I went in and looked... sorry.
As you can see, there was a 3-way tie for best tone between thebassbuilder's, Rip's, and Duke's entries.
I have not voted, and it turns out that here is where my vote is going to make a difference...
All three entries are good in their own right. To be honest, I'd love to get mag subscriptions for all three of our participants... but that's not going to happen.
So, here it goes...
His "virtual lifetime" contributions to the TB iOS community, number of entries, willingness and desire to help others, etc, etc... all of that goodness has now come full circle... and therefore I am proud to announce that the 6 issue subscription to Bass Gear Magazine is going north of the polar circle: I hereby declare Duke21 as the winner in the best tone category for his Ricky/Redhead entry #23!!! Congratulations Duke!
2nd best tone winners are thebassbuilder and Rip. Receive a "virtual pat on the back" and be virtually recognized as uber cool iOS bassists. Congratulations!
On the best technical category, Duke ran away with 66% of the vote!!! Check out entry #28 to see what Duke did. A set of 5-string DR Marcus Miller FatBeams is going to Norway! Once again, congratulations! Honorable mention goes to Rip. Receive another "virtual pat on the back", and keep up cooking virtual solutions for the iOS community.
Since Rip came in 2nd on both tone and tech categories, two "virtual pats" equal a prize of some sort... he will also receive a set of strings! Fender 7250M nickel-plated steel roundwound strings (.045-.105) are going your way buddy!
All prizes will be sent out shortly! (Edit: Winners, please PM me your mailing information. All contact information will be held in strick confidentiality. I don't drink, but if that's what it takes to make me forget, I will. Just kidding. I need a name and address to send the prizes to.)
Thanks to everyone for participating, especially to those submitting entries and also those stopping by to comment as well as everyone involved in the iOS threads. You're a great bunch!

I've kept it simple with this one, and sometimes simple is best. The redhead really brings out lots of that Ric goodness! |

Here's the link to a SurveyMonkey survey I created for voting. I've never created one of these surveys, but since it's a monkey serving those surveys, and my avatar is a gorilla, well... it should work!
Anyway, here's the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YV3XTQ7
Voting closes on Sunday (this Sunday) @ 7p, and when I go and look in there, the entry with the most votes wins!
May the Groove be with you! |

| | How does he do that? | | | | | Guys, I have incredibly good news!!!
Tom Bowlus, editor of Bass Gear Magazine, has graciously decided to grant 6-issue subscriptions to the 2 folks that came in tied with Duke on the "best tone" category: thebassbuilder and Rip!
How cool is that! Now, Tom did not post that here, nor did he ask me to post on his behalf, but I am taking the liberty to announce this because we need to support folks like Tom in our bass community. Spread the word.
I already have Rip's information. thebassbuilder, please send me your contact information and I will forward that to Tom.
Tom, on behalf of the Virtual Hot Sounds contest participants, and the TB iOS community, thank you!!!
