vt bass/deluxe - distortion?

Hi all, anyone using the vt or deluxe as your main overdrive/distortion/fuzz? Interested in band experience. I owned one a while back and liked it but cant remember what the dist/fuzz side was like and i was running loads of other distortions at the time so offloaded it. I like the tube emulation, but wondered about the gnarlier side of it with a band. the gnarlier side of it with a band. Thanks

I attempted to use it as my main drive for a bit. Didn't like it. Eventually I moved to putting an overdrive pedal in front of it to emulate a crunchy tube sound. The VTbass is what it is - a sansamp pedal that emulates old Ampeg amps. I wouldn't attempt to use it solely as a dirt pedal.
