Vt bass deluxe parallel output

Has anyone out there used the tech 21 vt bass deluxe xlr out or 1/4" output and the parallel unaffected output at the same time. The basic idea being, that the parallel output is the clean channel and the xlr or 1/4" (whichever we choose to use) is the dirty channel. Anyone tried this?

why wouldn't it work?

disclaimer - I don't have a VT, but I do have Tech 21's Sansamp RPM and it sure as heck does what you're describing. Pretty sure that's the whole point of having those connections there....

The parallel output is used to plug into the input of your amp, it's not a "clean channel". The normal way to use this is to have your bass plugged into the input, the parallel output to your amplifier's input so you can hear yourself, and then the XLR output is fed to the PA mixer so the bass can be heard through the PA system.

It sounds like you are describing the normal 1/4" output. There's another parallel output on the VT deluxe. I'm curious how this can be used too.

It works how you want it to. So you can send the house your affected tone and run the parallel out to maybe an amp on stage that you already like the tone of. Or you can send the parallel out to a clean DI for recording purposes so you have two tracks to blend together.

....or, to a tuner. It's a 2nd 1/4" out, to be used however you wish, or not used at all.

I run my effects in the loop of my deluxe BDDI. The deluxes have three patches x2 with the FX loop independently preselectable on or off in each patch and switchable in and out.

What are you are wanting to do with the two channels of output anyway? You have XLR and 1/4" effected and 1/4" parallel bypass to chose from.

The three outputs can all be used at the same time. The parallel output is the same as running your bass direct with no SansAmp effect. It can be used anyway you like. It is a buffered output. It's also the same sound as leaving the pedal in bypass mode.

You could run the parallel out to the board to a separate channel and have the two tones mixed together. To get your uneffected and SansAmp tone into a bass amp at the same time you would need either an amp that has two channels, a blender or mixer pedal or an ABY pedal.

What exactly are you trying to do?
