Whammy II expression problem

Sign in to disble this ad
so, just got a Whammy II for a TOTAL steal on ebay (gotta love people who list things as 'guitar fx') - seller said its in full working order, however the expression feature only works for about ten seconds when the unit powers up. So now i cant switch between intervals

The rest works fine and its a great harmonizer, and is an interresting companion to my POG II and BOD.

I looked at the board and theres like a cardboard 'fence' around the LED thats on the exp treadle, nothing looks like its out of place, nothing smells burnt.

I'm just curious if anyone else has has this problem or if they can suggest anything to fix it?

Im not too sure about how much of a steal you got there... with the expression not working and all.. Im not sure how easy something like that is to fix either, though maybe someone else knows of a common problem or something, but if I were you I'd be looking into a refund asap.

well i'm not that fussed really, it cost me almost a third of the price of the cheapest new Whammy IV i could find and I'm really liking the 5th up and b3rd up settings. Ok its only half the pedal it should be, and i have contacted the seller, but tbh theres no way i could get another harmonizer that actually tracks well at that price. Unless its a behringer clone of the Boss PS5.

I bought it coz i was curious and thought if i dont like it then sell it at a profit, might not happen now, but then again its something i could actually see myself using. Although i like the idea of expression-pitchshifting (i enjoyed it on the boss PS3) its not really something id see myself using in a band context.
