Whammy IV question

Sign in to disble this ad
I used to own a Digitech BNX3. I used to use the Whammy function to detune my bass to E flat as well as other detuning options(used to make my 4 string have a 5 string tuning config).
Anyhow my new band plays covers & plays the songs in their original tunings(i.e Man In the Box in E flat). What I'd like to know is if I can achieve the E flat setting with a stock Whammy IV.

Just tune down half a step, it'll sound better.

I own a Whammy IV and honestly, the detune sounds pretty bad. You CAN do it, but personally I find the tone to be less than desirable. Of course, if you're running some OD or whatnot with it that might help to cover up the glitcheyness but still, I wouldn't recommend it. The other functions are nice though.
