What about a bass with built in fuzz?

Saw this on YouTube for a guitar:

YouTube - ‪Messenger guitar with built in fuzz with solid state peavey practice amp‬‏

Thought it be cool for bass. Like a "Stoner Doom" switch.

just get a 10 watt, line out to a Peavey Bandit 65, and you've got a fuzz to be reckoned with might cost you about $200+ dollars for your electric bill and maybe a new 10 watt but all in the name of stoner

Not so much for bass but Guitar Fetish has a line of mod boards that install right in the guitar for different effects.

MODboards

I would imagine that there are other companies out there making them as well.

I wouldn't want fuzz built into my bass. There's a billion pedals, effects and overdriven tube stuff to take care of that and easier to switch to when necessary. To each his own I guess.

Jack Bruce had one in an EB3 in Cream. They made a few basses in the 70s with different modules. Dan Armstrong, Shergold, etc

I believe Matt Bellamy of Muse has a Fuzz factory built into one of his guitars. It's definitely doable if you want to. Space may be an issue depending on the design, but some of the less complicated fuzzes shouldn't be too tough to get in there.

Paul Barker (ex-Ministry, USSA, RevCo) has a custom First Act with a built-in B:Assmaster.

I had one before.

If anyone remembers the One off Benevente that was a left hander, but setup for a right hander white with a set neck thing I got, and sold as a project... Anyway, it had a green muff clone in it. It was cool, but not really needed. I would rather have a pedal.

They've been doing this since the 60's. Coolest approach I've heard is to take a jazz-style bass and wire the pickups to two outputs. Neck is clean and bridge has fuzz. Roy Wood and Ace Kefford did that in The Move. Some great clips on youtube that show the bass wired up like that. There is more info on TB if you search for The Move.
