My g*****ist has one and it can do all kinds of effects if you mess with it enough. Way more versitile than just delay or reverb.

Oh, I already knew about that Space Echo, I just didn't realize there was a tape original.

What happens once the tape runs out??
I know that tape is no longer made so would it be useless once the tape messes up.

Sleep uses forms of hemp in its raw format to replace the tape.

Ok then makes sense. They must get through a fair amount of 'tape'

Space Echo. Probably for pitching/warping delay effects and psychedelic freakouts. You can also get new tape or NOS tape.

Also, holy sparky green Ric!! Where did he get that?

um... tape is very much still available.

there are 2 major manufacturers (RMGi and ATR) currently producing high quality analog tape at the moment, and there is rumor that quantegy may re-open it's tape division....

so yeah, tape is definitely still made, and all you gotta do for a space echo is splice a loop of 1/4" and drop it in. easy as pie.

Plus there are a few shops that specialize in making tape refills for the Space Echo.

Plus there's an RE-20 in the classifieds.

Hmmm... I have used the original a few times, but it was several years ago; and I own the new digital one, but I haven't opened the box to try it out yet.

Seems to me somebody here compared them not long ago... was it Joe P.?
