What causes mini toggle switches on this pedal to "pop" when switched?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am the third owner of an Elextronix Submarine Designer pedal. There are 3 knobs and four toggle switches and the stomp switch on this pedal.

Bongo bought it new and sold it to Livewire.

The 1k boost toggle switch broke in Livewires bag. He disclosed this when selling it to me.

When I first tried the pedal, there was a pop when I engaged it with the stomp switch. It still sometimes does this although only the first time. If I engage and dis-engage the pedal, the pop goest away, almost like static electricity.

When I first tried the pedal, the toggle switches did not pop.

I replaced the broken on/off/on sub-toggle switch. This now works.

But now, the 4 toggle switches often pop when switched to different positions.

Anyone know what could be going on here ??????

Thanks

It's just the nature of mechanically switching electronics in the signal path. For a split second you have an open circuit, then *pop* you are hooking back up again (very basically described). It's perfectly normal.
