I landed a gig in a KISS tribute band. I need a delay for the "bass solo".
This is the effect I'm going for. Kiss New Jersey 1996 - Gene Simmons Bass Solo - YouTube
I have a Sansamp Bassdriver for the overdriven part. I just need a delay.
This is my board. Lots of room!
I was thinking about the MXR carbon copy. I was just wondering if there are any other delays I should look at. I really don't want to spend over $120, and would prefer to buy a used one.
Any ides?

Are you going to dress the part?

I will check it out.
Dress the part? Does a bear Sh%t in the woods?
My boots
Besides, I would look like a tool spitting up blood with an axe bass without costume and makeup.

| | | | I cannot advise on the pedal but I need pics of costume and pics of the bass!
Well, maybe. The Digitech bp200 gets some cool delay stuff with it's expression pedal. Set feedback to the expression and make a really ambient loop. Anyway, I'm not sure that's what you want so, carry on.

The bass after proper pickups installed.

Another option might be the ehx memory toy or the marshall echohead. you might be able to manipulate the d time with a tap tempo switch

The expression pedal can be set to control delay time as well. I'm sure there are also other delays that work with expression pedals, too.

If it's set to one tempo, I'd be fine. The only rub is that someone would have to turn off the effect when I'm spitting blood all over. I was looking at the MXR, but that's a lot of bread for a 30-40 second bass solo.

I've dressed as Gene before and had a ton of attention (which I love). This gig should be fun.

| | THIS HAND OF MINE GLOWS WITH AN AWESOME POWER! | | Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: USA; Mitchellville, Maryland | | | See if you can find a Line 6 Echo Park. I got mine for $70 and I can't think of any other delay pedal I'd rather own other than the TC Electronic RPT-1 which is a good bit more pricey. I don't know if it's true bypass but both bypassed and engaged it's VERY clean unless you add some color to the sound with the modulation knob.

Have a blast with the gig. Looks like fun. I'd do it.
Just did a search, and it looks like you can find a used CC in the $100 range.

It's got a ton of options, including 15 different delays, three presets, tap tempo, and a looper. There are several on craigslist and ebay for around $150. I know its a little more than your budget but I think any pedal is expensive if you're only going to use it for one song. EHX also makes the deluxe memory boy. Analog with a tap tempo. Seen them used from $110 to $135. All that being said, it's up to you. Just my two cents.
