What a difference 50hz makes!

I just got my MXR 10 band EQ through the post and it seems to be very good quality. I have a boss GEB-7 which is OK but is more noisy and cuts off the high frequencies (I like having stuff going on around 16k which the MXR does pretty well).

However, one thing I miss from the boss is more low-mid detail, specifically it has a slider at 400 hz as well as 500hz.

Actually, ideally, I would move the 500hz slider on the MXR to 450hz. It may seem like I am being pernikety but, to me 500hz says "radio" wheras 450hz says "bass thump". I don't know why that is...

Maybe I should have gone for my alternative plan of buyig three Artec parametric Eqs?

Is there any possiblity of modding the MXR to tweak the frequency of the sliders? Would be magic if we could do that...

The BYOC 10 band EQ is a DIY kit that comes with different resistor values so you can choose your own bands.
