What kind of band applications do you use your delay pedal for? What kind of delay sounds do you find most useful?
I just use my delay for spacey funk or solo things. |

Also, I've been using the warp function on my Boss DD-6 to create percussion parts. It's good to be a solo guy... |

I use 4 seconds or so for smaller scale ambient things, about 30-40 ms, either with little feedback to stretch out my legato volume swells, or with a little more feedback and some slow phaser for chopper style psychedelia. I've also used a really short setting with no feedback as a subtle chorus with a fretless.
I haven't used delay with a group. It just seems to get in the way for me playing regular songs. |

Depends on what type of delay you're talking about? Long delay? Slapback can be used for most funk applications. |

Turn it up a bit to get the reverb going so that with a clean sound gets pretty nice. I'lll kick it up when I feel like it and when I don't need it, shift the volume down.
BUt I use my DD3 a lot when I'm either messing with feedback or in one song in particular I like it to echo my fifths out once when I move to my next ones. |

| | | I'am an a self confessed Delay Whore , my bands written 4 songs already and i've used delay in each one, either sparingly or for the whole thing. Delay IMO is the best effect out there. |

Its issentially the only effect other than different stages of distortion any of the band uses. The guitar player runs a Dano Delay into a DD-3, and frequently turns both on during more spacy parts of songs. Its awesome for those crazy noise parts.

I am currently using line6 dl4, digitech digidelay and akai headrush2 and I love them all...all...all...all...all.... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
