They would be for stage wear... and in this case they are vintage, pre-owned boots in mint, exc condition and under a hundred bucks. I used to have a pair of snakeskin boots but they didn't hold up too well.

If it makes you feel better, you might play better too. |

He used a generic passive one and I had a lot of fuzz going that night to I started looking for ways to have a more consistent sound. | Exactly why I'm focused on preamps right now... 5sg's Rulez to Live By:
1) always bring your own power strip and extension cable.
2) always have a quality DI with you (or preamp pedal in my case )
3) power your board with a power supply so batteries don't go dead in the middle of a show
4) always take a pre-game dum... errrrrr... bathroom break. Lol
If my pedal sale goes the way I want it too (aka it all sells), I'll be able to make 3-4 key pedal purchases, compare the B7K and Enabler to my Tone Hammer and Sansamp PBDDI, move key pedals from my main board to my second board, thus finishing both boards once and for all! Quote: |

Like Father said, just get happy with what I send to the board and not much else I can do. I wish I could mic, because I really dig the sound of my rigs, but even when I'm sickeningly nice, they've always been pretty persistent about using a DI. *shrug*

I guess I haven't been following Boss much lately at all, I wonder what they're doing for ANYTHING new. Some of their non-bass specific pedals are pretty killer with bass. I really dig my PS-5 when I can find a use for it. I've also toyed with the idea lately of checking out their '59 Bassman pedal, which supposedly recreates the sound of the old school Bassman amps, the original amp created to match the Precision bass.
I agree on the MXR stuff... They've been giving bass players some love lately and have been making some very good pedals. The Bass Octave Deluxe is my current fav octaver, the Bass Envelope Filter is quite good and I've heard nothing but good things about the compressor and fuzz. It's nice to see some low end love from a big mass production manufacturer.

| | | I would like to talk about about no one in the Houston area should buy this: http://houston.craigslist.org/msg/3464377399.html
I do not live in Houston but my brother-in-law does. He went to buy it last night (for me) and when he plugged it in it would not turn on. The seller played dumb, my brother-in-law felt it was fishy, and the sale fell through, obviously.
I would want to report the post, but "product not as described" actually is not something you can report a Craigslist post for that I can see.

I own their compressor, I previously owned their envelope filter and if I had a few sheckles I'd be sorely tempted to pick up that octave deluxe. if that weren't enough, I believe I may become the happy owner of the M80 DI next week.
MXR is making some very compelling pedals these days, no doubt about it.

I can't decide if I should run some parallel chains, use it as a master on/off or use it to take my B3 in and out of the chain. I know how I like to run stuff as far as order goes but I'm interested in how others might set up my pedals. If you had an OC-2, MXR blue box, Copilot Orbit, Gnomeratron VTF, Zoom Ultra Fuzz, Boss PS-6, MXR Black label chorus, Wasabi delay, Zoom B3, Boss RC-2, Boss LS-2. How would you run them? I have them set up this way for now: Everything in loop A of the LS-2 except the Delay and Looper are running off the output of the LS-2. OC-2>Blue box>Gnomeratron>PS-6>Orbit, Chorus, B3. The Ultra Fuzz is not on my board yet, it is a Christmas present. Anyway looking forward to thoughts on parallel routing or other ideas.
Edit: I should probably mention that I play in sort of New Dealish band. Sorta of similar but a slightly harder edge.

Guitar multis have a place in a proper parallel setup IMO.
I have recently discovered some joy in running a lowpassed octave down in parallel with a highpassed dirt section with a lot of overlap in the bandpass. Very Timmy C-esque IMO. You could head that direction with the above setup (and a bunch of other directions as well). |

There is a prototyoe vid on youtube with bass, but it's not very in-depth.
Any of you guys have the low down on this beast? I'm thinking it could be a killer delay for bass players since it's got some very interesting rhythmic qualities to it.

I have a Zoom B3 that has a multi-tap delay and I really like it so I imagine the Echorec would be a lot of fun to mess with. Delays are usually pretty bass friendly why not just buy it and give it a go? |
