Sign in to disble this ad
ok so i spend most my time in pawn shops and ive aquired alot of cheep pedals and i feel my board is missing a little somthing... its not somthing i can really describe

pedals i own.
line 6 delay modeler, boss ce-2.. or maby 3, nobel tr-x trem, digitech bass driver, boss dd-3, made by mike saltbooster, danelectro peperoni phase, boss ds-1, digitech hot head, rax octaver, behringer line selector, behringer eq pedal, boss tuner, behringer synth (it sucks), ronald ragan era big muff, digitech whammy, danelectro fab overdrive and cry baby

i was planning to see if i can get mike (madebymike pedals) to make me a occelating bass fuzz (ill call it the "d**k in a fan")

but what am i missing

What music do you play ?

Haven't seen any enveloppe filter or wahs in there somewhere. There are a few good threads on those subjects, a search will pay off. But anyways...

You're into synth ? Give the Digitech Bass SYnth Wah...pretty wild thing !

Other interesting filters: 3leaf groove regulator, Mutron III, Q-Tron (all very popular around here), Bassballs, DOD FX25 (B or not), Dunlop Cry Baby 105 Q bas wah pedal (the white one).

Filters are like dirt: very very personal choices, so what you choose might be very different from what's current !

Personally, I'd be upgrading some of those pedals, and probably reduce the amount of duplicate types of pedals on the board.

For example: You have two delays
Line 6 (what I am assuming is the DL4)
BOSS DD-3

I would also upgrade the pedals that eat your low end when engaged:
BOSS DS-1
DigiTech Hot Head
Behringer EQ (I am assuming that it isn't made specifically for bass)
Ronald Reagan Era Big Muff
Danlectro Fab OD
Dunlop Cry Baby (I am assuming that this is the guitar version)

I do not know what the "Rax" octaver is, but I would get a different octaver (assuming that it is analog) such as the Aguilar Octamizer, or the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, or the EBS OctaBass.

If you aren't that into synths, you should get rid of the Behringer synth. It's just going to be extra weight and wasted space on your board.

+1 to most of this. Sounds like you're trying to fix something with pedals instead of add something to what already works. If you haven't run your bass directly into your amp recently, I'd give that a shot to start.

If I made a totally erroneous assumption, then it is difficult for us to describe what is missing without some vague idea where you are trying to go. You don't necessarily need to describe what sound you want (although it'd be a big help), but a feeling or something about where you are trying to go and why you can't get there would be helpful.

I got a Kermit Green DOD FX25 (Original) that I might be willing to let go of. Wanna get rid of that DD-3

The answer is none.
Your pedalboard doesn't need anymore pedals if you have to ask anyone else.

What your music needs is a more relevant question which may answer your question...

Maybe a 105q wah as it's so versatile and expressive and can give a different sound to your other effects ?

I agree except for the muff [depending what one it really is] and the octave do to not knowing what it is or sounds like.

The Danelectro pedals are priced low but don't sound that good and they're really noisy from my experience. I'm also not fond of much made by Behringer because of noise issues and cheap electronics they use.

To me spending a little more on quiet pedals is always worth the money.

Of course, you need the Valnott:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WcsV7hQ1V4

a bass demo starts at about 4:10. but it works so well with everything that you should watch the entire demo to get ideas.
