What effect does Stuart Zender use in Just Another Story

Sign in to disble this ad
Stuart Zender uses a really fat envelope filter or auto-wah of sorts in Just Another Story of off TROTSC. I know he used Boss ME-6B's and Boss ME-8B's on stage, but I have no idea what he used when recording TROTSC. Does anyone know the envelope filter or auto-wah pedal he is using? If not, what pedal under or around 200 would get me closest to that sound. I have a Digitech BSW and that doesn't give me much flexibility on the envelope filter sound.

i think that's an original Musitronics Mutron III with a dying battery (if i'm not mistaken).

What can get you close are Electro-Harmonix's Qtron series. try a new Qtron+

Does the Qtron+ have the same circuitry as the Qtron? Are there any drawbacks of the new Qtron+. I love the design of the new XO series pedals, much more compact and they look more durable.

i think the new design is just further improved and put into a smaller box. nothing big though, i don't think it would sound THAT different from an old qtron+ or qtron.

i haven't heard of any complaints, but then again i don't think many have owned it yet.

they sound the same, the new one is way sturdier. I've seen 3-4 of each in the studio and there is no difference.
