Thinking about picking up an MXR M82 Envelope Filter for my first envelope filter experience. Thinking I may be able to replace a wah all together with an evelope filter for mobile use/more tweakability. Can anyone comment on the MXR's ability to nail the wah sound? |

Can anyone comment on the MXR's ability to nail the wah sound? | The MXR is a great all around envelope filter that has lots of different filter sounds in that little purple box. Wahs are hard to replace with a filter though, because a wah is basically a manually controlled sweep that you can control in "real time." A filter has a set sweep that you'll have to adjust by leaning down and turning a knob.
I'm admittedly biased though, I personally like filters better than wahs. My suggestion would be to hang on to the wah and give the M82 a try to make sure it's for you before getting rid of the wah.
Just my $.02.
