I need something with more drive and flavor, like a Sexdrive or Timmy. (sorry for the guitar talk...). I thought about replacing it with a parametric, like the WMD, but I don't know if that is really what the guitar board needs. I think it needs a good drive/preamp. More experiments....
I did use the 6band on the bass board for a second, but it can't replace the Submarine Designer so that didn't last.

| | Registered User Endorsing: Ampeg | | Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Apopka, FL | | Coming (back): VT Deluxe...tried going without it a couple months but I miss it. Compresses a little more than I would like so I leave it off when running clean, but it's got that certain something for overdrive. Plus it's a switcher/EQ for upright, and I could use a little more compression on the upright
Going: Morley ABY, Boss SYB-3 (envelope filters just aren't my thing though I keep trying), Barber Linden (this one hurts because it's such a great EQ, but I only need it for upright and the VTD's covering that now).

Coming- MXR BOD and M82 Envelope Filter.
Going (or in my case gone)- DOD FX25 and VT Bass..
Will probably miss the VT but I was only using it on a couple tunes for distortion and I really would like a distortion with a clean blend. Just got hired by a band that does a lot of disco and modern dance tunes so the BOD seemed like a good choice to fill some space and maybe cope some synth bass parts, we'll see.

Darkglass vintage microtubes, looking to use this as a preamp of sorts, still need to figure out an EQ solution with a small footprint to pair with it.
CopilotFX broadcast, got this one with the normal TRS expression output and an extra 9V CV output to control to freq. sweep on my frostwave blue ringer V2, the TRS output will feed into my expressionator and then into my rainbow machine and pigtronix mothership for now
going:
EHX HOG and foot controller, never even really used it, the sounds were nice but the lower octaves didnt carry enough CHUNK for me, gonna stick it on ebay.

The swell effect is interesting, but I think I want to layer on top of a clean signal, so it looks I will be picking up another Boss LS-2. |

I'm admittedly biased though, I personally like filters better than wahs. My suggestion would be to hang on to the wah and give the M82 a try to make sure it's for you before getting rid of the wah.
Just my $.02.
5sg. | I think Ill do that. Maybe while my AMT Wah is at excanes for demoing before it gets sent back Ill pick up an envelope filter to try it out, see if I can achieve the sound Im looking for. |
