Who does this? (synth/blend)

I'm thinking about using a microsynth/synth style setup with a blend loop (or function) dialed low or 50/50 with a 'clean' bass signal growl and phat I think...

I have some gear that could get me started on this, but I'd like to hear from you...

I use a microsynth and an xotic xblender. I nearly always use the xblender at about 75% wet. I find 50/50 gets a bit lost in the mix with the guitars/drums.

The microsynth is pretty good at retaining the lows anyway.

I've been very happy with the sounds I can get out of my Tech 21 Sans Amp (the original, now called the Classic)--> EHX BMS-->Maxon AF-9, all run in a Barge VB-Jr, with blend typically at about 60%.

The downside is that the whole loop takes up much of my PT-Jr board. Since November, I've been working with a Line6 M9 instead for most of my gigs that call for <octave-fuzz-filter>. For "Stevie's left hand" sounds, I prefer the octaver built into the BMS, but the M9 is usually winning its way into my gig bag because it's small, programmable, and much more flexible than the pedalboard.

Most if not all bass synths have a built-in blend : EHX Microsynth, Akai Deep Impact, Korg G5, Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer, Markbass Super Synth.
If you want to blend with a different line of effects rather than clean tone, a Boss LS-2 is your best bet.
