Who here uses two of the same pedal with different setting?

I read about guys with 3 envelope filters or 4 distortion pedals on their board, and it got me thinking: Each of these pedals can do multiple things, create several sounds effects. Take the MXR Envelope filter - - I can get several fun sounds out of it, but in a gig situation I'm not going to stoop over and dial in my "other" sound -- I'm going to want *two* of these pedals, each set differently. And I'm seriously considering doing that... But two identical pedals? Will I be blazing a trail here, or is this common?

I keep multiple Muffs on my board for the above mentioned reasons. One muff is very bassy with smooth fuzz while another has some insane buzzy fuzz going. Then I started using my BBM as a clean blended dirt pedal with the other muffs doing muff like things!

I'm a bit of a fuzz junkie.....

I have 2 line 6 dl4 delay pedals, I got tired of switching between delays and looping so I got a second one.

It looks like I will be keeping my other flanger pedal and using two on my board. One fast, one slow.

I generally use effects as an instrument in it self, so I have plenty of time to switch around on them.

But I can see this being a good idea, definitely.

I've never had problems just bending down and turning knobs between songs either. That's what banter and feedback are for.

I use two identical eq pedals with different settings, but I guess that's sort of a different thing. I'm waiting for that programmable source audio eq to come out...

I don't at the moment, but I could see myself using two different 3Leaf Groove Regulators for a "wet" effect and a more subtle filter--just haven't gotten around to it being necessity.

PS-3, one on dual detune to fatten up synth sounds, one as -1 and -2 detune for orchestral sounds.

I have two fuzzrocious grey stache. One is the original model that I use for the oscillation feature. The other I use for straight face melting.

Is bending down and turning some knobs to a 'known' position worth $140?

What if you have to do it in one beat of a song being played at 220?

All I'm saying is that if the 'trouble' (if you want to call it that) you spend moving some knobs to a known position BETWEEN songs on one single pedal is worth $140 then...go for it.
