Question Who really knows there gear?

Hi guys, am in desperate need of something similar to the legendary Moog Taurus synthesizer, however until the end of my apprenticeship I only ear £95 a week (that's £150). Could you suggest any alternative options?

I want something cheap, foot operated, that can play a sustained low octave bass synthesized sound.

probably the best example of what I want here

Do you need to play a different instrument simultaneously? If not, you can get a synth pedal like the Boss SYB-5 and use the hold function for this sort of thing. They're not great, but they're certainly inexpensive.

The synth bass in that Police link sounds like an Oberheim OB-8 poly synth to me.
I don't think it was a Taurus pedal, but that would certainly achieve a similar tone with ease.

As Bryan says a Boss SYB-5 or 3 should get you close, or maybe the Digitech Bass Synth.
