| | | | Why Did Chris Wolstenholme switch from a Sovtek Big Muff to a Russian Big Muff?

I was on musewiki.org looking at chris's various pedalboards from different albums and I noticed that he had a Sovtek Big Muff on his board for Showbiz, but then on Origin of Symmetry, he had a Russian Big Muff. I thought the sovtek was superior to the russian one that you can buy for $60. Does anyone know why he switched?
Here are the two boards:

But generally speaking, the Sovtek models are still well-liked, for one reason or another.

To paraphrase an excellent poster on another forum: If Wolstenholme said he got his tone from eggboxes you'd see them on pedalboards.
