I see a lot of props for these but also a lot of them on the used market... which I usually take to mean, "this is not for everyone"...
Anyone had one and got rid of it quickly? |

I've also tried out a boss me-20b and It's not too shabby. if I had to choose between the me-20b and the me-50b, I would choose the me-50b because it has more variety of effects than the me-20b. a friend of mine has a boss me-50b and he really digs it. he created some pretty cool sounds with it and it sounds awesome when he plays with his band. |

The ME-50B wasn't bad by any means but it didn't everything I wanted it to, exactly how I wanted it to be done. Without it I wouldn't have developed such a clear understanding of what I want from my effects.

I've been using mine for a few years as a hobbyist, not a gigging musician. Now that I'm really starting to figure out exactly which effects I actually use, I'm going to start branching out and buying individual boxes for them to dial in exactly the tone and such that I'm looking for. Just like he said, without it I'd have never figured this stuff out, and I doubt I'll ever get rid of it (or at least not for a long, long time) because I love being able to travel easily with a bunch of effects in one box. If nothing else it'll be a great back up in case something goes down. |

It sums up mine pretty well too, except that I had a GT6B, and it was stolen. After that I bought single pedals though. |

I currently use an M13 and wouldn't look at an ME50b. YMMV. |

The only sentence I'd change is "owned one for a few years" Mainly I got it as an introduction (an extended one at that). I got sounds out of it I really enjoyed... but the octave can't go 100% wet, and I wanted to be able to use more than one effect from each section. Although it sounds good enough to gig with, nothing stood out to me- it’s not the kind of unit that I felt could give me MY tone, rather could adequately cover a lot of ground. |

I would have to have 15 or 20 stomps to do what I do with my single GT10B
I think a lot of people just upgrade to a more robust multi of some sort after getting they're feet wet with the ME50b |

Was a bit more than I needed and more complicated than I wanted. Plus, saved myself $400 and bought a Zoom B2. Much better fit for me. |

Either I couldn't get the effect to do exactly what I wanted, the effect was cheesy sounding, or it was a multi-unit that did a lot of things but none of them really great. I have never owned the GT-10B however. That unit appears to be pretty sweet, based on the youtube videos I've seen. |
