Honest to God, I don't understand it. At least once a week, some douchebag comes into the effects forum with the sole intent of telling everyone they don't like effects and how we shouldn't be using effects because they don't like them. I just had to put some yahoo in his place a few moments ago, as a matter of fact. They say really stupid stuff like "That's not what bass is about," or my personal favorite idiotic statement of all time, "Effects are for covering up a lack of talent." What the hell is wrong with these people? Who made them king of all that is bass? Tell you what, Mr. Effects-cover-up-a-lack-of-talent...I'll somke your ass with or without effects. And if I can't, I'm sure guys like Justin Meldal-Johnsen, John Davis, Marcus Miller, Dave LaRue, or Victor Wooten will.
So here's some advice if you're one of these people and you're tempted to post some stupid drivel like that...nobody cares what you think, so shut up and go away.
Yeah, OK, I haven't been sleeping well and I'm a little cranky. You shut up, too!

I can't answer this, but every time someone comes in here and spews the anti-FX BS makes me want to ducktape them to a SVT on ten, plug about 5 fuzzes in on ten and blast them with feedback intill they loose their hearing. Really that is how I feel on the subject... next..

Then when it comes out in a different color you should get that one too |

I mean if I use different bass gear and I'm not satisfied with it, what's the point?...seriously, this guy was being picky about my bass sound. I'll admit I was dishearten that night, but I got over it. I just hope I don't run into that guy again. anyway, that guy is probably like the guys you were describing that don't like effects on bass. |
