Why does my Crybaby make my speakers pop

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a soundgear bass and when i hook my crybaby inline with it and i play slap it makes my speakers pop when i mute my slap. they do not pop when the crybaby is not inline with it. the bass plays fine when the wah is not inline. i have the ac adapter. but when i put the crybaby on my effects loop it works fine. i have a SVT-4pro head. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you could be clipping the input of the crybaby. I will have to plug my bass into my crybaby and see what happens. Maybe there is an impedance issue. Do you have a compressor or an overdrive you can put before the crybaby?

I use to have this problem, my wah would make the tweeter in my cab distort, I disconnected the tweeter.....

so does you think a compressor would be a good way to go to keep from clipping my input?

It's worth a try. Also turn you input way down and see if it still does this.
