Why don't we have effects "clubs"??

Sign in to disble this ad
I would be in the Analogman and Earthbound ones!
Probably because we'd get so overrun with them, and have no room in sigs to fit them all.
I guess I answered my own question

Yeah, that's why I'm not in any of the clubs--sigs just get too cluttered and huge.

Although I think I got counted in as a member of the "Flo is hot" club.

There are a few for various different brands, plus the general 'effects addict' one (see my sig).

There's a BOSS PEDALS ROCK club,...and a Source Audio club. I think there may be an EHX club too.

If we had a club for every mainstream and boutique pedal company there would be so many clubs with like two members that would be constantly changing with all the pedal pimpin that goes on in here.

EDIT: For Grins,...here is a title search, keyword club.

So, as if I didn't have way better things to do, I went through and found all the fx club threads I could find here:

Boss (a few separate clubs)
Line6 M9
BJFE Blueberry
Source Audio
EHX (a few clubs)
Moog
VT Bass
Quest for the perfect filter
Digitech
RAT
Tone Chasers Anonymous
4ms
DOD
Morley
Lovetone
Pandora
Crybaby 105Q
Effect builders
Electronic/Synth/Experimental
Pink pedals
Polish/Bogdan
Weenie shrinkage
Barber
Envelope follower
B:Assmaster

So if you want to join any of those clubs, just search on the name.

Oh, and Flo... The Club of Flo (of Progressive Insurance)

The whole "clubs" thing has really changed the appearance of the Basses forum. Previously we had a lot of individual threads that usually maxed at a couple pages long. Now we have a huge amount of behemoth club threads lumbering through the forum. While they are likely a much better way for someone to get information about a particular brand, as most people who post in the Club threads stay subscribed to them thus giving the questioner a large, knowledgeable audience, it dissuades casual readership. It's not as easy to click on a huge generic thread and read through it than some short, specifically titled ones.

I for one am glad they aren't so prevalent in the Effects forum, and the few that are are at least in a more readable size. It's really just a matter of preference though.

I'm also not a 'club' fan. I don't really understand what it accomplishes, so I generally have discouraged or ignored them. I feel lucky it's not a REALLY common practice.

Where is the club for the "no effect user except this stupid tuner" ? In this one, there can be a lot of picture of floor. Only floor ! Nothing else... huhu...

PS: Ho, i know a tuner is not an effect, but you know what i mean...

This.

The whole club thing is getting out of hand. 2/3 of almost every page in 'Basses' are just club threads.

I didn't include the multiple "no effects" clubs in my list because they were all locked for trolling. And I'm pretty sure the "no club club" idea has swung and missed not once but several times, in the basses forum.
