Why no Compressor+Tuner pedals?

I like simplicity. I don't like lots of stuff to set up, I don't like or need tons of stuff in the signal chain, and I don't love what the the multi-effects processors do to an otherwise naturally-great sounding bass. I'd love to find a simple combo pedal with - a light Compressor and a good Tuner - in one box.

I don't think such a box exists? Do you know of one?

you could get a compressor and a tuner and just make a mini pedal board for them. im guessing you dont want rackmount?

With pedals when you start adding or combining then you add cost and lose flexibility. The closest I've seen was a tuner/EQ pedal and I don't think it's particularly good at either:

+1 my signal chain only includes a Tuner, Compressor and a VT Bass (which os off more than it is on) I get a clean full of tone sound first with just light compression and then depending on the song I kick on the VT. I do have a Zoom Multi Effects - but it is only used occasional when a specific effect is needed and is out of the signal chain.

A seperate tuner and compressor is by no means a long signal path. In fact, supposing you by quality units, your tone would actually stand to be improved.

sounds like you should go rackmount. If your amp head/tuner/comp is all is a rack together, you don't have to deal with any additional set up. Just the added weight.

I think the reason pedals are usually single or multi(rarely double/combo)is that while you want a comp+tuner, the next guy wants OD+tuner or phaser+chorus or ring mod+oscilliscope or...
For a company(or even small/custom-ish builder)to mass produce an item, there has to be a good chance they will sell enough to turn a profit.
I'd love a comp, chorus, OD & tuner, but it's a simple matter to dial those requests into my B2.1u.

Zoom Bass Pedals

I use a couple of Zoom bass FX pedals... B2.1u and 506. Both have tuner, comp/limiter, EQ, distortion, amp sims, reverb, delay, flange/chorus... almost too tweak-able! However, used subtly, it can provide quite the convincing tube amp sounds... It IS my back up amp these days!

Rackmount seems like the best way for you to go. However, it may be worth it to look at the Line6 M9. I believe it has a solid tuner and at least one or two compressor models built in, as well as a plethora of other effects that you may end up finding useful. It doesn't have any amp modeling, which I think is your real gripe with most multi-effects.
