why would a bass crybaby just die?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've owned a white bass crybaby for a number of years. a few years back had to put some of my gear into storage where it remained for a year or two. when i finally got my gear out of storage i discovered my crybaby had just stopped working. the signal goes straight through , but when i step pn the pedal....nothing. logically it must be either the switch or the pot, but as money is tight i dont want to buy the wrong part.

has anyone else encountered this or know anything about it?
