May I know why you guys putting it for sale?
I want to replace my Maxon AF9 with 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator. But there are few people selling it. I just want to know the reason why you selling? Sounds not good? or other reason? |

There are countless reasons: maybe they need the money due to the economy, they simply don't need the piece of gear for the type of music they're playing, it's redundant to have it and something else that's similar, or they're saving up for something bigger and more expensive and have to sell some other stuff first. Never mind that people just have different taste, and the thing that sounds best to me is probably not the thing that sounds best to you.
Wanting to know why someone is selling something is a legitimate question IMO, but rather than ask the community at large, you should be asking the individual sellers. I couldn't tell you why other folks are selling their 3leafs because, well, I love mine! Doesn't mean I wouldn't sell it in the future, but for now, I'm very happy with it. You're better off reading reviews of it on the board here, finding one being offered for sale by someone you can trust, and communicating individually with that person.

I'd say that it's probably not due to any lack thereof by the pedal itself. It's probably a matter of taste, or dire circumstances (finances, disasters... GAS... ). I've got a Barge Concepts Grinder which is the finest envelope filter (IMHO ovbiously) this side of a Mutron III or Meatball. It's also ridiculously expensive. If there were another pedal that came along that I liked more (read: better quality/price/sound) than the Grinder, you know for sure that it'd be on the chopping block (much like my Analogman Bi-Chorus, among other pedals, which I have replaced with an Eventide ModFactor). |

I dig the Meatball on bass, but I like it better on guitar for some reason.
Haven't tried the Groove Regulator, but it seems to be a great filter. |

And pedals get popular, lots of folks try them, then move on to the next cool thing. Polish Love (dirt) got huge (and was hard to get) for a while fairly recently, then suddenly there were bunches of them popping up. The pedal didn't sound any less good, but a lot of folks here like to try out gear, and then try out more gear...

I think effects serve to satisfy GAS more than any other component – let’s face it, they are comparatively cheap. Many people can choose to blow $150 on the latest pedal but $1,200 for the latest 2 x 12 cabinet is a different story. |
