my band wants to do 'crawl' by kings of leon, if i use a distortion pedal such as the boss bass overdrive ODB3 , will it damage my amp or cabinet speakers in any way ?? |

they wouldnt make bass distortion pedals if we werent meant to use them

If you are pushing the speaker to distortion that's one thing, but artificially adding it is just making sound.

I run multiple octaves on my HOG + square/pulse wave on the freqbox + muff and am just waiting for something to blow! I depend on my Demeter comp to limit spikes, but one can never be too careful! |

No and Yes!
If the distortion comes from a pedal or preamp then absolutely no.
But if the distortion comes from the speaker being overloaded and the sound breaking up from overdriving a speaker then yes it can harm a speaker. |
