will a passive volume pedal work????

ok,so i went to GC yesterday to look at eb volume pedal..the 25k active one to be exact..they didnt carry it in stock but the guy said the passive one would work just as well with my active electronics in my bass.....is this true?...if so,i found a great used one on craigslists....need to know in a hurry,thanks!

i've got the "passive" version of the boss volume pedal and it works without problems with active or passive basses and with our without effects in front of it.

i would be surprised if the ernie ball behaves differently.

I've got both the 250K and 25K EBVPJr.s and if you compare them side by side there is a difference. The sweeps of the pedals' volume swell, when played with the same instrument (active/passive), are different. Other than that there's not much of a difference.

A passive volume pot in a passive bass works.... same principle.
