I realized last time around I didn't do enough clean soundclips of this pedal so here you go! This clip covers a little more of the funky side of this pedal.

I just thought I'd update everyone and tell you all that this pedal is still a staple in my rig and to my sound. I use it in the studio and live and I love it more than ever! As always if you're in the market for a bass wah I highly recommend talking to Kevin Wilson at Wilson Effects.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Thanks! I did actually sit down and compare this side by side with the Dunlop 105Q, and at least for the sound that I'm going for I liked the Wilson way better. The 105Q is quite good though all the same.

It's still like this:

Bass:

Gibson Faded Cherry SG Bass (Heavily Modified)

Strings:

D'addario EXL220's (.040-.095)

Accessories:

Dunlop Picks (.88)

Pedals:

Wilson Effects Mark Olson Custom Bass Wah -> Homebrew Electronics Bajo Mos -> MXR Carbon Copy -> Korg Pitchblack Tuner

Amp:

Soultone Marshall 2061X Lead and Bass

Cabinet:

Emperor 2x15" w/ Celestion Speakers

The modifications to the bass are that it has a pickup switch, just one volume knob, and an improved tone control that has a more dramatic affect than the stock Gibson SG's, and I've also had my tech put a Kahler 7410 vibrato on it so my bass has a whammy bar (which I don't normally use for soundclips because I think it'd freak people out and confuse them). I actually broke my Kahler 7410 (I can still use it, but in the left handed position) so I've got a replacement coming for next weekend, and I've also got a different neck pickup coming that I'm going to have put in at the same time.

After that I'm going to get some Celestion BL15-400X's for my Emperor 2x15" (those are the speakers I originally wanted in that cab but Emperor couldn't get them). I'm also going to get a power supply for my pedalboard at some point, either a Voodoo Lab ISO 5 or T Rex Fuel Tank Jr.

As far as pedals go I go through them very quickly and most of what I buy I'll use in the studio for a couple songs, but I haven't been changing up my live setup too much lately.

The next big purchase I'd like to make is a Hiwatt Custom 20. But before I do that I'm going to help my guitarist acquire a Swart Atomic Space Tone which is almost as expensive. My twin brother plays a Swart Atom, they make some really good amps.

Here's another clean clip, this time with the thumping and the pulling of the strings. My playing on this clip stinks, but you can hear the tone is quite funky anyways.
