Would a Markbass Compressore replace my VT Bass & Optostomp?

I like the idea of the Compressore running off a tube and adding warmth to my tone. Any idea if the tone out of this pedal compares to my VT pedal?

Depends how clean you run the VT. The Markbass has a very clean sort of tube warmth, noticeable but nothing remotely like the coloration resulting from the EQ and clipping of even a medium setting of the VT.

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

I run the vt with character and treb at 10:30; mid and bass at 1:30 and no drive. Just enough to get the tube coloring.

I just picked up the MarkBass Compressore. I have been using the BBE OptoStomp and was always well pleased with it. The Compressore does all that the BBE can do and much, much more. I would not hesitate to recommend getting one.

Incidentally, both were purchased because of Bongomanias excellent and favorable reviews.

Compressore warms up your tone on a nice and beautiful way, but it won't bring any dirt to it. I love mine, use it on all the time.

I've never used a Compressore, but just wanted to add that I love the 'Tube Sim' mode on my EBS Multi Comp. I also use a Way Huge Pork Loin to get a nice tubey warm sound.
