You have got to be kidding me (POG2 problem)

So yesterday I got my POG2 in the mail and I freaking love this thing. I was playing around on it with my J and getting some wicked sounds from it. So this morning I drop the registration card in the mail, come back and decide to switch to my P bass lyte, which has actives in it. I plug everything in, stomp on the POG2, and POP! The bypass light goes off but nothing else. I try re-engaging it but no matter how many times I stomp it the pedal doesn't engage.

I turned everything off, unplugged the POG2 and unscrewed the back to the horrible smell of burnt wire. I can still cycle through presets and everything except the bypass LED lights up, but I just can't get the pedal itself to turn on. I literally mailed in the registration card 2 hours before this happened and I really don't want a $325 brick.

Man that sucks! Be patient I'm sure EH will take care of you. Maybe give them a call or e-mail? What a drag

I would call them. My BMS freaked out when I first got it. I called and talked to them, they had me send it in and they worked on it. If I remember correctly they even called me and played it over the phone for me! Honestly!
So all I can say is my experience with their customer service was VERY positive.
But I am sorry to hear that happened to you bro!
Kinda making me think twice now?

Nah; I really love this thing and definitely don't want to lose it. I have no regrets buying it and if I need to I'd save up for a replacement.

EDIT
Just got off the phone with EHX and they said to go ahead and send it out, that it’s covered under warranty, and that mine is the first POG2 injury. (that’s gotta be worth SOMETHING, right?)

Glad that it's covered under warranty!
At least you don't have to go through the grief that I did with my OS... but at least it works now and I don't have an expensive brick.

Now I have to wonder if this is a freak occurrence, or something to be wary of.

Well, mine is part of the first batch, so maybe when they take a peek inside mine they can see what went wrong. Although, smurf hasn't had any problems, so maybe mine was just the unlucky one.

I have noticed that in the first batch of EHX pedals, there tend to be more problem pedals than later on. EHX is pretty good about quick repairs

Exclamation

Ill give you a good one. when i received mine it was missing a screw, and a foot. and smelled like fresh paint. Let me also mention the paint was smudged in many spots.

There are bound to be growing pains with a new pedal.

Weird. Is painting the lid something EHX is starting to do? All my EHX pedals just have the top of the pedal screened.
