i predict these will be a HOT seller, but they will be met with disdain by hard-core NOS battery enthusiasts

I'll just jump in sight-unseen.

Let me guess - carbon zinc? There's a precedent here - not only do carbon zinc batteries start out at a slightly higher voltage than alkaline batteries (HOTTER in some effects), but they also have benefits when they're dying (when used in the appropriate fuzz pedal) which alkaline batteries don't.

Just about the only place to find these old-school batteries anymore is at like a 99 cent-type store, if at all.

I've been wanting to try a carbon zinc in at least a few of my pedals. Now I can.

Who needs green trees? LOL In all seriousness I can see how this will appeal to the peeps looking for the true "vintage" experience.

Yes, we need more batteries:

Cars.
Smoke alarms.
Laptops.
On-board preamps.
PEDALZ. (not really - get a PP2!)
Flashlights.
Cameras.
Your beloved TV's remote control.
Your beloved DVR's remote control.
Your beloved DVD player's remote control.

Dig?

We should be insulted

I can hear the meeting where this idea came up...

How can we sell these cheap garbage batterys for 5x the actual value.

I know musicians...they will buy them if they are "vintage"

Now the next logical step would be, to invent a wall wart that "Emulates" vintage batterys.

These items can be found next to the 70 dollar gold plated cables

Great googa mooga. The day I buy these will be the day I pay more than $25 for a 20-ft guitar cable.

now that goes with out saying than any thing that isn't tether needs batters but there are perfectly good wall wort's and fancy power bricks that can power pedals. why wast time energy and resources on a battery when you don't need it. hell that goes for a lot of things in life if you don't need it don't get it

DIG!

you know i think the message i am trying to sell here is REALLY vintage Batteries. first the bass blogger now this ehx. My dad once said that Henry Ford made two mistakes in his life. Edsel the car and Edsel his son. both nearly ruined the company.

I have some 'vintage' batteries for sale. As-is of course..

This isn't going to inspire any 'what's the best battery for metal' type threads now, is it?

I work for Batteries Plus, we also sell them.

All in all, I think it's pretty silly though.
