Try adjusting the tones of them to see if you can get them to work together- most times, the best soloed fuzz tone and the best soloed filter tone don't make the best combination. |

if i put it the other way, i find it too uncontrollable and not very usuable in my band

that is, I did when I had a filter and a fuzz.

Some effects (envelope filter, envelope phase) need to go before the comp to control peaks. However, fuzz before comp sounds like ass. Hopefully when I upgrade my Q-Tron+ to a 3Leaf I won't have those problems anymore...hopefully...

That looks like something I would put in as a sarcastic response. Reminds me of Spinal Tap. Or the Will Ferrell razor on SNL with 17 blades.
I'd be impressed if that's been on your board (no sarcasm). What were you using? Diff pedals, or replicated versions w/ diff settings? |

Diff pedals, or replicated versions w/ diff settings? | Not sarcasm at all but I don't have a filter on my board either ATM. I have a lot of pedals so when I have a idea I throw something together for what ever the idea is. Lets see that chain if I remember was
Tweakfuzz > Q-tron > GGG tuned BMP > DOD FX25 > DE OK > EHX Bassballs > green Sovtek muff. Also in the chain was a two octaves, trem, comp , phase, flange, another comp, all into a Roland space echo. It is all about balance though, the reason is to create syth sounds not Spinal Tap.
I have around 15 fuzzes and 6 filters + a wah so if I want to I can create much oddness
Here is a shot of a similar setup with less fuzz but you get the idea. |
