Zoom b1 vs. b2

Alright, I'll admit it- it was not a great idea to go effects shopping online after getting home on a Saturday night. But I did.
What I wanted-a Zoom b2...what I bought a Zoom b1. I thought at the time it was just a heck of a good deal on a b2. Whatever it was not alot and I just wanted something that was a little more versatile than the DOD chorus I am currently using.
Has anyone used the b1 or better yet both? If so what is your take on the b1- am I going to be extremely disappointed in not getting a b2?

i have never used a B1, but I bought a B2.1U, i also used an old zoom 607II, and looking at the manual of both the B1 and the zoom 607II are very similar but of course the b1 is far more advanced in sound tecnologies. IME using the zoom B2.1U "is too much" i mean, dou you really need tones and tones and effects for a bass?? not really. I can say I bought it to use at rehearsals, and mainly as a practice tool in my house (because of my family and al that) and since I dont own an amp i could use the internal EQ to shape the sound. the last days I have used the pedal with my guitar (an epi SG special) using the "tube screamer" emulation with good compliment from the other guitarrist.

I dont think you will get dissapointed, unless you are somekind of a "freak of bass efects"

I think the main difference between the B2 and the B1 is that the B1 is made of cheap plastic while the B2 is mostly metal. The B1 may not last very long.

There are some differences between the B1 and B2, but depending on your needs the B1 is far from a bad choice and offers lots of good things for bass players. Most of the basic functions and sound are there but the B2 offers more variability and a couple of effects that the B1 does not have. The B2 also has some mixing and positioning options that are not on the B1.

At this point I am looking for a compressor/limiter with a chorus and occasionally another effect option with an eq so I would say I am definitely a basic functioning kind of guy...could you explain what you mean by mixing and positioning options.

both units have this sequence I think,

bass ----> compresor/limiter--->wha/efx--->drive/synth--->ZNR---> EQ--->mod/sfx--->delay--->reverb

right? well that is like a sequence if you have separate pedals into a single pedalboard, but imagine you want to change the wha/efx AFTER your drive pedal...you can do that with the B2, but only for a few wha/efx modules (auto wha, pedal wha, phaser and ring modulator) thats the only thing about positioning options, not big deal really.
