Question ZOOM B1X vs B2.1u

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok before I get flamed...
sorry for making another Zoom thread but I just wanted specific answers on one certain thread!
Also, I've already been the Zoom website before you tell me to go there; but I wanted real hands on experience from my fellow TB'ers!
I'm looking for a new multi effect pedal and I want to know the differences between the older B1X and newer B2.1u.
Are they exactly the same in sound regards? Does the new one have more editing functions? More effects?
Or is it just USB and metal casing?
Thanks in adavance guys!
Peace

The B1x & B2.1u are the same generation the B1x is more a budget version with less control and a few effects missing and features. The B2.1u offers 3 controllable parameters for each effect whilethe B1x relies more on presets with 1 variable for each effect. The B2.1u offers both an xlr output as well as a usb interface and includes a copy of Cubase LE so you can get started recording on your computer. The B2.1u also allows you to use an external pedal to control additional functions like tap tempo or mute/bypass. B2.1u offers a 6 band or dual parametric where the B1x offers only a 3 band eq. The B2.1u also has better input and output jacks metal instead of the dreaded plastic. The metal casing is a response to past concerns with plastic cases which I never had an issue with.
IMO it is well worth the extra to get the B2.1u, I have a G1x I use for gtr and piccolo bass and it is pretty amazing.

Thanks man!
So it's twice the price but I'd never need anything more to record with and I'd be able to DI when I play live... COOL!
But does either have a drum machine? Tuner?
Sorry for the annoying questions
