Zoom b2.1 help please - unwanted distortion

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

When I 'dig in' to my bass and play pretty hard running through the Zoom, I seem to be clipping the signal somehow - I've fiddled for quite a while to get rid of it, but I cant find what's causing it. It happens on all the presets.

Anyone any ideas what is causing it and how I can get rid of it?

Many thanks

Turn your bass volume down. Or otherwise attenuate the signal in some way. You may be able to turn down the input gain on the Zoom, I'm not sure.

Forget the presets and make your own sounds.

can it be loose cable jacks or dirty/rusted? wiggle the jacks a bit and see if you get static noise?

the idea is there's no good contact at the jack points, so you turn the volume up, as you "dig in" to the strings, somehow the signal goes thru the bad contacts in the jacks and suddenly become louder?
