Question 1: When you assign a new patch number do you have to use/replace the preset A-D/0-9 places; or use the numbers section that come just after the A-D/0-9 patches (which are the same).
Question 2: The XL spreads posted earlier here: they are blank templates to use, correct? (ie: there were no settings in the docs)

#2 They are blank if you are looking for user patches you can check haax, dunno why Zoom does not support a user site. .: - BASS PATCHES - :. |

All I want is compression so when I slap during a song that isn't all slap my slap part isn't WAAAAAYYYY louder that the non slap bits. Seriously no matter what button I hit there is some kind of effect like distortion or synth or something. I just want a clean tone with compression. Help

| | | | b2.1 isn't best known for compressor, try the limiter which is better functioning.
i always use b2.1 and outboard comp. |

I find the limiter more useful. Turning off modules it's pretty simple as Corba said it's all a matter of selecting each module and switching it off.
17, 29 & 30 are all good starting places for clean tones.
The factory presets are pretty lame for the most part so you gotta dig into the machine and make it work for ya.

I have been using one of these babies since about '06 and I use it always. |

I have been using one of these babies since about '06 and I use it always. | I have read the manual. But, obviously, I still don't get it. That's why I thought I'd ask here.

But people would rather ask ten questions than spending a few minutes reading carefully a manual, which can then answer their next ten questions.
I don't get that.

Once you do you will find it easier to create your own sounds or mods, and I still use the cheat sheets all the time.
Just play with the toy, you can't break it and whatever changes you make can be stored or restored. There are 2 banks factory and user that start out identical. Start by creating your basic sound, either all modules off or I use a handful of basic clean sounds using the Bassman or Tube pre setting with a touch of room verb as my basic, and go from there. Once you have a basic sound, then you can save that basic sound and add effects to your hearts desire.
**I have my B2 set up with A0, B0, C0 & D0 being neutral settings all modules off. the A bank is all based off of the Tube pre sounds. B & C banks are all based on the Bassman sounds and the D bank are sounds without any amp models. |

First off you need to familiarize your self with the controls available and what they do.
There are 4 dials at the top of the unit and 6 buttons underneath as well as 2 pedal foot switches.
The first dial selects ‘Play’ mode or individual effects modules. Then there are the parameter 1, 2 & 3 each with a different function depending on which effect is selected, see the cheat sheet.
The buttons are for various functions in ‘Play’ mode you can bank up or down but in effects mode it allows you to scroll thru the various effects in each module, you will need to refer to the manual of cheat sheet for all the effects and parameters that are available for each module and effect.
The foot switches allow you to switch off or on each module.
In the effects mode the parameter controls allow you to make changes to each effect.
On the B2.1u you can also assign the control pedal to various functions with the button on the far right and save that assignment to the preset.
Once you have a sound you want to save then press the ‘save’ button, choose a location A0-D9 using the foot switches and press ‘Save’ again, the display will blink several times and you now have a saved sound at that location.
I suggest creating neutral or basic sounds saving those and then creating effects from those basic sounds, but it’s your machine have fun and be creative! |

Not sure if you can get it w/o installation disc but try the Samson/Zoom page for better info. |

I looked in the manual to double check if I had it hooked up correctly. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
