I just got everything hooked up and installed the software. After some trial and error, I got it figured out and recorded my first bass track. I was SOOO happy that I got it all to work. The downside is I now realize how bad my playing is What a horrible slap in the face

I realize there's not much anyone can do to help my playing. Any tips, tricks, hints or thoughts on recording through the B2.1u using Cubase???

Listening to recordings of your own bass playing can be a useful tool to improve your skills. In college I worked in a demo studio for a music publisher, the engineer/producer was a former bass player who was merciless and it improved my playing, tone and skills immensely.
But sorry I have not even tried the Cubase for recording, i use something very different.

Yes, recording will show you a lot about your playing that you probably weren't aware of. It's a great way to fix things that are wrong with your technique and sometimes even your bass setup. Playing live with a band covers a multitude of sins and I recognize that I'm typically happier playing live than in the studio.

BTW, the B2.1u is a decent unit. I have not recorded direct with mine using Cubase as I'm a Sonar user, but have come to enjoy more of the B2.1u's subtle effects (chorus, reverbs, octave) that are more useful for the music I typically find myself playing.
