From my understanding, i think the Floor Pod actually has a limited number of effects in it, are you looking for at getting a processor for the effects or amp modeling. If effects go with the Zoom, if amp modeling go with the Floor Pod.

There's no way of telling which is "best" unless we know what features you're looking for, what sort of music you play etc etc.

The Zoom is a nice effects processor, ive got one, plenty of effects for you to muck around with. However your probaly better off having a clean tone for metal/hardcore, but it can work if you make it work.

I tried out a Bass Pod once and I wasn't impressed. I definitely prefer the Zoom for modeling as well as effects.

I have a Zoom B2.1u .. I like it for some things, but I find the majority of the effects on it are seriously lacking compared to the real thing. Mostly I use it as a Preamp/EQ with occasional use of chorus and various other one-offs. I actually like the chorus on it better than the small stone I had for awhile. For my main effects I am using individual stomp boxes, though. They're just better. Like seriously. Better.

The Zoom actually lets you use multiple effects simultaneously, Line 6 does not. The new Zoom B2 & B2.1u are very flexible and offer a lot more control than most other multiefx.

+1 for the Zoom...It's very versitile. (Actually some of the amp models are nice...there are several I use live.)
It also has a fairly nice tuner when in bypass. I've never owned any other effects pedal, but I REALLY like the Zoom.

I hadn't initially noticed that you were talking about the floor pod rather than the bean (which was the one I had tried). In that case I think there is no contest. Doesn't the floor pod only have 5 models and just a couple effects? The Zoom is definitely in a class above the floor pod.

Another vote for the Zoom from me. The effects are generally great ( the octave and pitch shifter are the only ones I'm not that keen on ) and the amp simulations aren't bad either - I use the SVT one to "rough up" my Little Mark's sound for rock gigs.

Cheers,
Alun
